SolTuna Ltd., established in 1973 as Solomon Taiyo Limited, is the sole tuna loining and canning processor in the Solomon Islands. Based in Noro, Western Province, the company processes locally sourced tuna into canned products, frozen loins, fish meal, and fish oil. SolTuna is a significant contributor to the national economy, employing nearly 3, 000 staff, two-thirds of whom are women. The company emphasizes sustainable and ethical practices, holding certifications as a fair-trade and dolphin-safe business. SolTuna's products are exported to 13 countries, including Australia, and also serve as a staple in the domestic market.
