Operating under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it provided services such as organizing international trade fairs, business rounds, and offering market intelligence to assist Argentine companies in accessing global markets. In 2016, it was restructured and renamed the 'Fundación Argentina para la Promoción de Inversiones y Comercio Internacional,' expanding its mandate to include investment promotion.
