Established in 1955, Victoria Co-operative Fisheries Limited is a forward-thinking co-operative located in the Northeast Highlands region of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. The co-op purchases locally harvested seafood from over 140 inshore commercial fishing vessels, including lobster, snow crab, halibut, groundfish, and mackerel. It operates the only active lobster processing facility on Cape Breton Island, employing up to 125 people during peak periods and contributing approximately $2 million in payroll to the local economy. The co-op's products are shipped worldwide, including to Japan, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, the USA, and within Canada.
