Company Overview
Xnext is an innovative Italian SME that has developed Xspectra, a disruptive non-destructive inspection technology capable of detecting non-conformities in industrial products in real time. In particular, XSpectra helps to improve food safety by detecting directly at the production line the presence of contaminants such as plastics, bones, cartilage, insects, wood and gums that would otherwise be undetectable by traditional inspection systems. Xspectra is able to detect such contaminants directly in the production line. In just a few milliseconds, it can perform a hyper-spectral analysis of the product in real time, comparing the energy absorbed by any contaminants and thus decreeing whether or not it meets the required quality standards. Xspectra distinguishes itself from traditional inspection systems thanks to the synergy of three technological innovations created by Xnext: photonics, nuclear electronics and artificial intelligence. Xnext was the first in the world to exploit the potential of Deep Learning in X-ray food inspection. These three technological innovations allow XSpectra to exploit up to 1024 energy levels of X-rays, unlike traditional systems that use a maximum of 2, so it is possible to obtain much more information about the composition of the product.
