Established in 1993 under the auspices of the African Development Bank, the African Export–Import Bank (Afreximbank) is a pan-African multilateral financial institution headquartered in Cairo, Egypt. The bank's mission is to stimulate a consistent expansion, diversification, and development of African trade, operating as a profit-oriented and socially responsible financial institution. Afreximbank provides financing solutions and advisory services to African governments and private businesses, supporting intra- and extra-African trade. Its services include trade finance, project finance, guarantees, and credit insurance. The bank has a strong credit rating and leverages its position to facilitate trade across the continent. Afreximbank operates regional offices in Abidjan, Abuja, Harare, Kampala, and Yaoundé, and is in the process of establishing a new headquarters in Egypt's New Administrative Capital.
