Takazen Shoten Ltd. was founded in 1797 (Kansei 9) and is a long-established company that has been making koji for over 200 years in Esashi, Oshu City, Iwate Prefecture. Using high-quality rice and manufacturing methods that have been passed down from generation to generation, we run a koji shop with honesty and integrity. The company began producing pickles in 1981, and built a light pickle factory in 1993. We create products that make use of Iwate ingredients and seasonal vegetables. Our main products include fresh koji, amazake, miso, and various pickles, and we also offer light pickled vegetables made with local vegetables.
