Established in August 1952, the Taiwan Flour Mills Association (TFMA) began with 14 member flour mills, expanding to 38 by 1992. Currently, TFMA comprises 26 member mills, with 21 actively operating. The association facilitates the joint procurement of wheat through open tenders and focuses on enhancing milling technology to improve performance across Taiwan's flour industry. TFMA primarily sources premium wheat varieties, including DNS, HRW, SW, APH, AH, ASW, and CWRS, from leading global exporters to produce flour for baking, noodle production, and other wheat-based foods. The total milling capacity in Taiwan is approximately 2 million metric tons per year, with current operations milling about 1.3 million metric tons.
