Established in 1993, the North-West Fishing Consortium (NWFC) is a prominent Russian association comprising 14 companies engaged in fishing, processing, and wholesale distribution of seafood. Operating primarily in the Northern Fishing Basin, NWFC manages a substantial fleet, including fishing and crab-catching vessels active in the Barents and Norwegian Seas. The consortium specializes in harvesting species such as cod, haddock, halibut, Red King crab, and Opilio crab, with an annual catch exceeding 40,000 tons of fish and 9,100 tons of crab. NWFC is committed to sustainable fishing practices and has been recognized with certifications for its efforts in responsible fisheries management.
