The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI) is a branch of the Government of India responsible for the formulation and administration of the rules, regulations, and laws relating to food processing in India. Established in 1988, MOFPI aims to develop a strong and vibrant food processing sector, increase farmer incomes, enhance the export of processed foods, and reduce wastage in the supply chain. The ministry oversees various schemes like Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY) and supports initiatives such as Mega Food Parks, Cold Chain Infrastructure, and Operation Greens.
