The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) was established in 2001 as the nodal Department of the Government of India to ensure the effective coordination of developmental efforts in the eight North Eastern States of India: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. Its mission is to accelerate the socio-economic development of these states and integrate them with the national economy through infrastructure development and various schemes.
