Established in 1994 by Andriy Verevskyi, Kernel is the world's leading and Ukraine's largest producer and exporter of sunflower oil, accounting for about 8% of global sunflower oil exports. The company also stands as a major supplier of agricultural products from the Black Sea region to international markets, exporting to over 60 countries. Kernel operates 28 grain elevators in Ukraine with a total storage capacity of 2.34 million tons, the highest among private-sector companies in the country. In November 2007, Kernel's shares were listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. In 2023, the company announced its intention to delist from the exchange.
