Established in 1984, Kanchanjangha Tea Estate & Research Center Pvt. Ltd. (KTERC) is Nepal's first certified organic tea garden. Spanning 95 hectares in the foothills of Mt. Kanchanjungha at altitudes between 800 to 2300 meters, KTERC produces a variety of high-mountain premium organic teas, including black, green, white, and oolong teas. Operating on a cooperative model, the estate empowers local farmers by making them stakeholders, thereby promoting sustainable tea farming and community development. KTERC is also certified by the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), reflecting its commitment to fair trade principles and social responsibility.
