Kamani Oil Industries Pvt Ltd., founded over 55 years ago by the Chawla family, was a pioneer in introducing specialty oils and fats to the Indian market. In September 2015, AAK AB, a Swedish vegetable oils and fats producer, acquired a 51% stake in Kamani Oil Industries, forming a joint venture to strengthen its position in the Indian market. By October 2020, AAK acquired the remaining 31% of shares, gaining full ownership of the company. Kamani Oil Industries operates a modern production plant in Khopoli, located 70 km southeast of Mumbai, and is known for its well-developed relations with both global and local customers.
