A passion for food and wine and the purchase of what was meant to be a lifestyle property for their family to enjoy, is how George and Jodie found themselves the owners of a vineyard located on the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula at Currency Creek, overlooking the Finniss River! A decision to graft our Riesling patch over to some alternative and emerging varietals, including Roussanne, Sauvignon Gris, Nero d’Avola, Gamay, Saperavi, Primativo and Montepulciano, which are better suited to our climate, and subsequent move into small batch wine production, led us to create the label “George’s Folly”. Being a family owned and run vineyard we all pitch in and help where we can, and whilst we affectionately call the vineyard “George’s Folly” (not ours!!), we take it pretty seriously as we like to enjoy what we produce!
