The Popcorn Board is a non-profit organization formed in April 1998 under the authority of Congress, aimed at promoting and researching popcorn as a versatile, whole-grain snack. Funded by U.S. popcorn processors, the Board's mission is to maintain and expand existing markets, develop new markets for popcorn and popcorn products, and increase consumer awareness. The Popcorn Board works closely with the USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) to ensure fiscal accountability and program integrity. The Board plays a key role in promoting the health benefits and culinary versatility of popcorn, reaching consumers through various educational and promotional initiatives.
