The Directorate of Food Processing (DOFP) was established in May 2018 under the Department of Agriculture, Government of Meghalaya. It aims to bridge the gap in the agricultural value chain to help farmers get remunerative prices and become entrepreneurs. The Directorate focuses on capacity building, sourcing technologies, and expanding market opportunities for processed products through various programs and schemes. It collaborates with academic, research, and technology institutions to support training and knowledge upgradation in food processing.
