Themar Al Emarat is the first commercial, large-scale hydroponic project in Sharjah, UAE. The farm utilizes 185, 804 square meters of arid desert land to produce pesticide-free vegetables and herbs all year round. The farm includes five different greenhouses and an open-air crop space. It is known for its sustainability practices, using solar energy to meet 50% of its power requirements and recycling 100% of its irrigation water. The farm produces over six tons of white button mushrooms daily and aims to augment the cultivation and supply of fresh vegetables in the Emirate while contributing to the UAE’s National Food Security strategy.
