Celebrating our 50th anniversary this year, Knappstein Enterprise Winery has enjoyed a long and revered reputation as a maker of premium wines since it was established in 1974. Since those pioneering days, the winemaking focus has always remained to showcase the quality fruit from the individual soils and climates of the local vineyards. Our winemakers act as guardians of the vines and caretakers of the wines. The style of our wines has naturally evolved into more medium-bodied, fruit-driven wines, that are inviting in their youth, yet also sophisticated with age. Having some of the best vineyards in the region, we are dedicated to a 'distinguished vineyards' philosophy. With the full control of vineyard management and our long-term commitment to these sites, we have forged the company's reputation as one of Australia's leading premium wine brands. The cellar door and winery still operate in Clare from the original Enterprise Brewery building circa 1878, itself a listed heritage building and a landmark of the Clare township.
