Spices Board India is the flagship organization for the development and worldwide promotion of Indian spices. Established in 1987 under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, the Board acts as an international link between Indian exporters and importers abroad. The Board's main functions include research, development, and regulation of the domestic marketing of small and large cardamom, post-harvest improvement of all spices, export promotion, and quality regulation. Spices Board also emphasizes the development of spices in the North East region and promotes organic production, processing, and certification of spices.
