Temi Tea Estate, established in 1969 by the Government of Sikkim, is the only tea garden in Sikkim. Spanning over 440 acres, it is renowned for producing some of the finest organic teas in the world. The estate transitioned to organic farming in 2005 following guidelines from the Institute of Marketecology (IMO) of Switzerland and was certified organic in 2008. Temi Tea is known for its high-quality tea varieties including Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe (TGOFP1), Sikkim Solja, Mystique, and Kanchanjunga Tea. The estate employs around 406 workers and is involved in sustainable and eco-friendly tea production methods.
