Founded in 1957 by Anacortes fisherman Tom Savidge and his wife Marie, SeaBear Smokehouse began with a backyard smokehouse producing smoked wild salmon for local taverns. Tom's innovation of the Gold Seal™ pouch allowed the salmon to be preserved naturally without refrigeration, facilitating nationwide distribution. Over the years, SeaBear expanded its offerings to include a wide range of artisan seafood, such as wild salmon, halibut, crab, sablefish, and trout, all sourced from the pristine waters of the Pacific Northwest. The company remains committed to quality, sustainability, and sharing the region's rich seafood traditions with customers across all 50 states.
