Ragi Mission is a transformative agricultural initiative led by IAS officer Sushant Gaurav in Gumla, Jharkhand. The mission has revolutionized the district's agriculture by shifting focus from traditional paddy farming to the cultivation of ragi (finger millet). This shift has empowered thousands of local farmers, particularly women, through the establishment of self-sustaining markets for ragi-based products. The initiative also aims to combat malnutrition and anemia in the region by integrating ragi into the local diet. Under Sushant Gaurav's leadership, Gumla has emerged as a major hub for ragi cultivation, earning it the title of 'Ragi Capital of India.' The project has received national recognition, including the Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Public Administration.
