The National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) was established in 2006 as an autonomous organization under the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India. Its mission is to enhance fish production and productivity, coordinate fishery development in an integrated manner, and implement various fisheries development activities. NFDB supports intensive aquaculture, coastal and inland fisheries, infrastructure development, and capacity building, contributing significantly to the overall growth of the fisheries sector in India.
