The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MAF) in Timor-Leste is responsible for developing policies and implementing programs in the areas of agriculture, fisheries, livestock, and forestry. The Ministry aims to enhance food security, improve rural livelihoods, and promote sustainable management of natural resources. Established in 2001, the MAF plays a crucial role in supporting the country's predominantly agricultural economy, which employs around 80% of the population and is vital for subsistence and export, particularly coffee.
