Over twenty years fifth generation brothers John and James Lienert transformed their family’s farm on the western perimeter of the Barossa Valley into a viticultural wonderland. In 2023 they ventured to the Barossa’s high country at Eden Valley acquiring the highly regarded ‘Summers Vineyard’ in the Eden Valley planted to Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. With vineyards spanning the breadth of the diverse Barossa wine landscape, Lienert Vineyards is today recognised as leaders in sustainable agriculture and promoting diversity of clonal expression across Barossa’s heritage varieties. They are also innovative pioneers in the development of new varieties perfectly suited to the Barossa Valley landscape such as Malbec, Roussanne, Fiano and Piquepoul.
