GreenPalm was a certificate-trading program established in 2006, aimed at promoting the trade of sustainably produced palm oil. The system allowed palm oil manufacturers to purchase certificates from RSPO-certified palm oil growers, supporting the production of sustainable palm oil at the source. It played a key role in encouraging palm oil growers to adopt sustainable practices and enabled companies to claim their support for sustainable palm oil production. The program was phased out in 2017 and replaced by the PalmTrace system.
