City Roots is South Carolina's first urban organic farm, established in 2009 in Columbia. It is a family-owned operation specializing in the sustainable cultivation of microgreens, vegetables, and cover crops. The farm grows USDA-certified organic products, with a mission to improve both community health and environmental sustainability. In addition to their 8-acre urban farm, City Roots is expanding with a 90-acre facility featuring state-of-the-art, carbon-neutral systems, including a 73,000 sq. ft. greenhouse. The farm supplies produce year-round to restaurants, grocery stores, and distributors across the Southeast.
