Founded in 1974, the China National Export Commodities Packaging Research Institute (CEPI) is a central budgetary institution approved by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation and the State Council. CEPI is a member of the World Packaging Organization (WPO) and the Asian Packaging Federation (APF), participating actively in international packaging activities. The institute is responsible for research on packaging technology, development of national and international packaging standards, and quality inspection services for import and export commodities. CEPI operates a comprehensive packaging laboratory equipped with advanced instruments and has been recognized as a national high-tech enterprise.
